I've located another source for this, but I still have to test it first. That program will also help you determine whether the camera is alive at all or not.

IMO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this software although I recognize that many people are dissatisfied because they assume that it is something more than it is. It might be amcap usb pc camera as more of a "utility" than a full-featured program.
